Carcassonne is a town in France, the prefecture in the Aude department of Languedoc-Roussillon region. The city is located near the border with Spain.

It is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe. Carcassonne Fortified City in 1997 was registered on UNESCO World Heritage list.

Cathedral: the most important tourist city of Carcassonne and architectural, construction of the cathedral began in 1096, was finished in 1130 and extended until the fourteenth century. The original structure was preserved only partially, in the late thirteenth century Roman style elements being replaced by the Gothic style.

Tomb of Bishop Pierre de Rochefort: dating from the fourteenth century, the tomb of one of the most important religious figures of the city is a true triumph of religious sculpture.
