Aosta is the capital of the Italian region of Valle d'Aosta. The town lies in a small valley with houses that climb up the slopes of the surrounding mountains. This region has a special status as official languages are Italian and French.

Head of the animals and especially as a symbol of the park is stambeco (wild goat). There chamois in considerable number, and marmots, small furry mammals whose cries are heard over valleys. The landscapes of the area are a mixture of alpine peaks and valleys plates.
